Visa Mini!

Ooohh Yeah!! I finally received my Visa Debit Mini from UOB last week! Woohoo!!


I think the Visa Mini is goddamned cute. Everyone, AGREE WITH ME!




Damn cute right... Ha ha.. Compared to the normal-sized cards, the Visa Mini looks quite fake but still screams cute!!

I like!

I just went to get it activated at the Tampines UOB branch yesterday and was dying to swipe the card for any random purchase just to satisfy my urge to show off my new Visa Mini; but my brain, being only 40% Female and 60% Male, (courtesy of a random What Gender Is Your Brain test that I clicked on at Calm One's blog) refused to allow the Princess to buy anything she doesn't need/want. I'd like to proudly proclaim that my Visa Mini is still a virgin and hasn't been swiped at any card machine YET. LOLz. And I do not need volunteers to deflower my card. Thank you very much.

I need to get a replacement card for my Campus account. It's really worn out already... And the new card looks so yummy-licious! I lurrrvvvve it!

And oh yes! I wanted to write about a dream I had this morning after Dar left the company of my warm body heat to go off to camp.

I dreamt that I had 3 sets of NSA Steel merchandise worth $30 each I had bought to hit my sales target when I was still with Verve Direct Group. To clarify, I did not do so. It happened in my dreams. Yeah. So, after almost half a year since I have left VDG, I decided to go to this industrial building to try to sell off the 3 sets, to get back the cash.

I dunno why my dream managed to truncate the rejections and brought me straight to one deal that I closed with an Unidentified Old Uncle (UOU).

First deal leh!! After so long, I haven't lost my pitching skills. Niak niak niak.

Then after somemore rejections, I entered an office where an old uncle wearing a grey uncle-style polo tee (Yes, my dream is coloured!) with gold-rimmed spectacles resting on the bridge of his nose took one look at me, and then at the merchandise in my hand with the red and white signature cross and silver "NSA Steel" wordings embossed on the top of the box, and then back at me and told me, "Fiona's mom was here already.. Too late!"

Fiona's mom is the mom of Fiona who is Weilong's gf who is Dar's brother. Erm. I don't mean to confuse anyone. Let me re-phrase that.

Fiona is the gf of Dar's brother. And Fiona's mom is the mom of Fiona. Gosh, that's so obvious, isn't it? Ha ha ha. Okay, not funny.

So it suddenly struck me that Fiona's mom is a registered distributor of some labels, and then the fierce realisation that Fiona's mom obtained distributor rights from Mr. Vincent Lau, MD of VDG, to distribute NSA Steel products set in. Don't ask me how or why. It's a dream, remember? And as far as I know, Mr. Vincent Lau owns the rights to the name "NSA Steel", okay? She's competing with other independent distributors under the umbrella of VDG? Gosh!! How audacious! What's gonna happen to Linus, Doleen, May and Edwin? And the various other assistant managers and leaders under these managers?





I boiled. With anger.

And promptly proceeded to slap said uncle silly with a smelly large trout and a rotten salami the size of an elephant's penis. With blue cheese in it. And then stuffed a sarcophagus down his oesophagus until he screamed and passed out on the floor with half the sarcophagus sticking out of his oesophagus.






No lah. I did not respond that way. I merely said, "Huh! Fiona's mom was here already ah? Alamakz... But nevermind lah, Uncle, I'm only left with my last 2 sets, you just get one loh! 30 bucks only you know!"

Uncle declined lah. Then he said he will get someone else to bring me into the production area to see if I can drop any sales there. Well to cut the long story short, an auntie found the price of $30 for a pair of watches, lighter and multi-purpose jack-knife with a one year guarantee damn attractive and bought it and that leaves me with one last set.


And then Doleen appeared.


I took a break with Doleen and we chatted for about 30 seconds and then Kang² appeared. Strange that Kang² and I were an item in my dream. He said "Hi" and I saw Mr. Vincent Lau standing behind him. I was thinking, "I thought Vincent doesn't want to associate with Kang² anymore? Why are they together?" Kang² seemed to read my thoughts and said that he had met up with Vincent for a talk and drink. Then Vincent sat down with Doleen and me. And we talked.


And.Then.I.Woke.Up.


Sigh.

I miss my Verve Direct days!

I started imagining, while walking across the Singapore Expo carpark on my way to worm work today, that I called Linus and told him I wanna go back to direct sales, and he said he would guide me along.

This imagination excited me but then the thought of my $8,000 debt to OCBC made me cringe and decide that I shall stick to a stable income for the time being, until I clear this 8K worth of Tuition Fee Loan. Oh, how I regret dropping out of University!! BOOHOOHOO!

Speaking of direct sales, I met up with Mervyn and Yiwen last night at Pasir Ris to talk about some biz that Mervyn wanted to share with me. I was disappointed.

Disappointed not because the biz doesn't sound exciting.
Disappointed not because the biz sounds more like a scam than a biz.

Disappointed that friends have evolved (or should I use downgraded?) to business associates.

I have nothing against friends doing MLM, or anything similar to MLM, I hate it when they call me all of a sudden to meet up, and then start talking biz to me.

I hate it because it is.... I have to admit, that my vocab library is very limited and I do not know of an appropriate word to describe how I felt last night in Engrish. It just feels so fake, you know. Its like they're talking to me because they have a motive, they have something up their sleeves, they want to make use of me. It sounds nice to say "This is not MLM loh, and I just want to help you."

Help me?

How about giving me cash instead? I would appreciate that even better.

I mean, to Mer and Wen who may be reading this entry, I appreciate your coming down all the way to talk to me but then again, if I were one of you, I would have done so even if it meant that I had to travel from Jurong East to Pasir Ris because it is my business I want to expand and it is money that I want to earn. Cos I learnt, in VDG, Step 3 of the 8 Steps is to do what it takes to reach your goal.

I guess they taught you something about setting goals and working hard to achieve goals in Britt Worldwide, Mer, but I think they failed to teach you how to build relationships with people. You know that your kind of business is a people business, but unfortunately, you do not know how to go about this people business and perhaps that is the reason why after 6 months, you have only Wen as your lower line.

In a people business, you have to be a people person.

A people person must know how to build relationships, not destroy friendships.

I think you would have done better if the atmosphere wasn't so biz-like and awkward. You know, like, not going straight into marketing your product? Like, catching up like old friends and then slowly going into the topic? That would be so much better and I would be so much more at ease and willing to talk about the business model you were sharing with me about. You sounded over-anxious to make use of me to earn money. It sounds ugly, but this is really how you guys made me feel last night. So there. I hope you understand.


Whew! This is a really long post where I'm not bitching/complaining! LOL.
