I started having this headache on Sunday... and it never stopped, not even with painkillers. Saw the family doc, that idiot kept blabbering about stress level and tension headaches, and managing headaches with massage therapy blablabla. Come on!! I mean, ok, I'm no doctor but I know myself. I'm not stressed out and I have been having headaches frequently and recently they just start to last longer and longer; and now even painkillers aren't working. I'm a hardcore user of painkillers; I've tried various types. Some work, some don't. Some work sometimes but not all the time and some are simply useless... Even I was astonished when the doc was making a list of what I have tried...
- paracetamol
- paracetamol with orphenadrine
- synflex
- arcoxia (both 90 and 120mg)
- tramadol
- atenolol (but that was for MVP)
- xanax (25mg)
- gabapentin
so he let me try
- propanolol
- xanax (50mg)
- another benzodiazepine I can't remember it's name
Propanolol?!?!!! I thought that was for hypertension? He told me to try... and I did... it worked.. for about 10 hours... then the headache came again at night and I took one paracetamol+orphenadrine and xanax tab... the combination worked beautifully to get me to fall asleep pretty fast, minus the pain. Anyway, I'm trying to get an appointment at the NNI for a scan... I sure hope everything's fine!
